From July 30th to 31st, the TaiyangNews Global PV System Technology Trends H1/2024 Conference took place online. The event offered an in-depth analysis of new photovoltaic products and technologies introduced in the first half of the year, with a focus on those showcased at the SNEC and Intersolar exhibitions in June. Christian Comes, Head of Business Development Europe at Huasun Energy, was invited to deliver a keynote speech on heterojunction (HJT) technology and its applications, and participated in a panel discussion on technology trends in the photovoltaic sector.
On the first day of the conference, Shravan Chunduri, Head of Technology at TaiyangNews, presented the TaiyangNews Top Solar Modules ranking. Huasun’s Himalaya Series G12-132 715W module, with an efficiency of 23.02%, received the Badge of Excellence 2023 by being consistently ranked among the Top 10 in the Top Solar Modules list for at least six months in 2023. It was recognized as the highest-efficiency product among non-BC conventional bifacial modules.

Under the theme “Heterojunction 2020-2030: From Niche to Mainstream Technology,” Christian Comes not only reviewed the evolution of heterojunction technology but also highlighted Huasun’s recent advancements and future trends. "Looking back a decade, although HJT products began small-scale production in 2005, the maximum module power at that time was just around 200W, and the costs were prohibitive. Thanks to continuous technological and process innovations, exemplified by Huasun’s products, HJT technology now achieves power output of over 720W in mass production and large-scale deployment. Moreover, due to their outstanding power generation performance and growth potential, global acceptance of HJT products is rapidly increasing."
Comes highlighted that at this year’s SNEC in Shanghai and Intersolar in Munich, Huasun presented its latest heterojunction-perovskite tandem samples, which garnered significant attention from the market.
“Heterojunction and perovskite are highly compatible, and their integration can significantly boost cell conversion efficiency. We believe that the large-scale industrialization of HJT technology will establish a strong foundation for the future mass production of HJT-perovskite tandem modules. Currently, Huasun has 20GW of HJT production capacity and is planning a pilot line for the tandem products. Looking ahead, this combination is expected to enable photovoltaic modules to achieve power outputs of over 800W and cell efficiencies of more than 28%.”
In the subsequent panel discussion, Comes remarked, "Huasun has successfully deployed and commercialized its HJT technology across both mainstream and cutting-edge areas, including rectangular cells, no-busbar (0BB) technology, and ultra-high bifacial vertical applications."
From niche to mainstream, Huasun continues to advance. To date, Huasun has delivered over 6GW of high-efficiency heterojunction products to more than 40 countries and regions worldwide. With its leading HJT technology and exceptional product performance, Huasun is dedicated to maximizing energy yield and returns for photovoltaic projects, thereby supporting the global adoption and high-quality development of solar power.
