Recently, Huasun won two key bids with Power Construction Corporation of China (PowerChina) for 2024, including a 500 MWp procurement of n-type heterojunction (HJT) modules and a 339.68 MWp procurement for the Qinhuangdao Changli offshore PV pilot project in East China. Huasun ranked second and first respectively among the candidates in both projects, reinforcing its leadership in the HJT sector and enhancing its partnership with PowerChina.
Since its establishment in 2004, PowerChina New Energy, a key subsidiary of PowerChina, has been driving high-quality growth in the new energy sector, contributing to both China's and global sustainable development. In 2022, Huasun and PowerChina New Energy formalized the first collaboration through a strategic framework agreement, paving the way for joint efforts in renewable energy development, and technology advancement.
Huasun’s recent success in securing the 500 MW procurement project further underscores its technological strength, product quality, and competitive advantage in vertical integration of ingots, wafers, cells and modules, reinforcing the long-term value of their partnership.
Offshore photovoltaics have emerged as a critical component in the global energy transition, garnering significant attention from both the industry and policymakers. According to the "14th Five-Year Plan for Power Development" in Shandong, the province aims to establish two major offshore photovoltaic bases, each with a capacity of tens of gigawatts, in the "Bohai Rim" and "Yellow Sea" regions. The Qinhuangdao Changli 300 MW offshore PV pilot project, for which Huasun has recently secured the bid, is the first large-scale offshore solar project in Bohai Bay. It also marks Huasun's second offshore photovoltaic project awarded by PowerChina.
Located 7.3 kilometers offshore in waters 6-12 meters deep, the Qinhuangdao project covers 279 hectares, imposing stringent demands on project construction. Huasun will supply its V-Ocean HJT modules, featuring 210mm HJT cells, double-glass encapsulation, and double-sided microcrystalline technology. As the world’s first certified modules for marine environment, V-Ocean modules can resist salt mist, water vapor, and UV, ensuring the project’s reliability and advancing offshore PV development in China.
Huasun’s HJT modules have proven their versatility and reliability in diverse applications, including mountainous, agrivoltaic, and offshore PV projects, solidifying the company’s leadership in the HJT sector. Recent successes in PowerChina's bids further highlight the quality of Huasun's products and services, reinforcing the strong partnership between the two companies.
