From February 28 to March 1, Tokyo played host to the World Smart Energy Week at the Tokyo Big Sight, marking the largest, most specialized, and influential international exhibition in the Japanese renewable energy industry. Huasun Energy showcased its premium heterojunction (HJT) products, such as Everest Series G12R and Himalaya Series G12 V-ocean, drawing considerable attention from the audience.
Japan has long been committed to new energy development. With the government aiming for renewable energy to make up 36%-38% of the power structure by 2030 and a further goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, solar energy emerges as the primary contributor. According to IHS Markit data forecasts, Japan's annual demand for new photovoltaic installations is expected to remain stable at around 5-6GW in the coming years.
As a hub for solar technology innovation, Japan's market is keenly interested in cutting-edge technologies like HJT. Prior to the expo, Huasun organized an exclusive HJT Gala, bringing together nearly a hundred local companies, project developers, financing institutions, and media from the solar industry.
Huasun's Chairman Jimmy Xu, CTO Dr. Wenjing Wang, and other participants engaged in discussions on HJT research and development. Peter Xiong, Asia-Pacific Sales Director, provided a detailed overview of Huasun high-efficiency HJT products and their market applications. Xu stated, “HJT originated in Japan, and Huasun aim at finding like-minded partners during this trip to advance industrialization and large-scale application of heterojunction.”
Emphasizing HJT's attributes of high efficiency, energy yield, reliability, and a low carbon footprint, Xu highlighted their suitability for Japan's distributed residential market. The products' reliability, with stronger resistance to hot spots and hidden cracks, significantly enhances the safety of residential photovoltaics in Japan. Xu also spotlighted the recent successful application of vertically installed Huasun HJT modules with a remarkable bifaciality of 97% in multiple projects, presenting potential contributions to the Japan’s market.
During the exhibition, Huasun showcased its complete range of HJT products of Everest Series and the large-panel V-ocean module. The diverse display captivated on-site audiences, leading to multiple rounds of discussions on HJT technology features, product advantages, and market applications.
Japan stands as a crucial battleground for Huasun in developing HJT overseas market, attracting increasingly widespread attention. Looking ahead, Huasun is committed to innovating with HJT as its cornerstone, providing customers with efficient and high-quality photovoltaic products. Collaborating with global partners, the company aims to drive innovation and development in the solar energy industry, working hand in hand to shape a beautiful, zero-carbon future!
